Carol Cauldwell

“My artwork takes on a critical view of social, political and cultural issues conveyed in a sarcastic, satirical and humorous way. I struggle with injustice in any form and my artwork has become a therapeutic tool for me to work through these issues.”

So says Carol, one of South Africa's most sought after sculptors with works in global collections. 

Her work offers thought, deconstruction and critical comment, through fairy tales, wordplay, nursery rhymes, illustrations and icons. Familiar visual images are transformed into conceptually layered work.

The subject matter leads the medium and the material. She is most passionate about bronzes and has her own foundry.
