SCULPTOR

Chris rohm

A man of few words, who expresses himself through his art, in Chris’ creative world, sculpting is a form of expression. He regards clay forms as three dimensional images. “Sculpture doesn't live in a world of flat paint. It glows in the realism of dimension, shape, form, detail and artist interpretation.”

Although he has always harboured a creative spirit and a talent for working with his hands, it was by happenstance that Chris started sculpting. Raised in the wonder world of the Kruger National Park (which informs his subject matter), Chris is not a full time artist, but breaks from his trade in construction to get lost in his own world.

He loves the challenge of the artistic process, as he creates his heirloom pieces and sees it as something that becomes self-propelling: “When you look again, the process has taken over and the clay has become something else.”
