PAINTER
Grace Kotze
Durban-based Grace Kotze says that, for her, the most important thing is to work from a point of the unknown. “I take a key from a sense in what I’m dealing with internally and look to my surrounds to see how they might reflect my inner emotions.”
Another point of focus in her work, is the relationship between man and animals and the dialogue about this symbiosis. Working in acrylic, she combines paint and emotions to transform the seemingly everyday into visually captivating pieces that inform, please and create conversation.
In between her profilic output, she finds time to teach and curate.
Her work has enjoyed acclaim in local and international exhibitions and collections, both as a collaborator and a featured artist.
