Clare Haynes is an artist living and working in Johannesburg. She finds inspiration from people and objects around her. 

She finds her objects in markets and thrift shops: things that people  have loved but discarded. These objects hold such history, so many memories ..

She arranges them in her studio into compositions that evoke feelings and emotions, of stories that are lost ... mysteries unsolved.

She paints these arrangements from life, with the light bringing up surprises and excitement. Colours that appear as if by magic. 

She paints people and places, towns and landscapes, from her travels around the ever-changing country. 

Painting is the thing she loves most to do.
